Wisconsin Racing at Madison International Speedway
On Friday, September 5th, the Wisconsin Formula SAE Racing team appeared at Madison International Speedway in Oregon, WI. The Hybrid Vehicle, Snowmobile, and Baja teams will also displayed their vehicles. We had the opportunity to make some demonstration laps with the 208 during the intermissions as we spent an exciting Friday night under the lights!

In order to promote FSAE among freshman engineers, the team appeared with the 208 infront of Engineering Hall for the annual Engineering Bash. Aimed at introdcting the students to the many opportunities within the college, the bash allowed us to promote our organization and recruit some new faces for the 2009 season.

An overview of the team was followed by group leaders giving an overview of each group, allowing new members to see what area of the car they would like to work on. We would like to welcome all new members to the team. This year is going to be another amazing year as we design and build the 208. Formula Student Germany 2007
For the first time in UW history, seniors and group leaders traveled to Germany to compete in the Formula Student Germany competition, held August 8th-12th at the legendary Hockenheimring. In its second year, the event hosted 58 teams from Europe and around the world. Although rain dampened the campground and track for much of the competition, we had the opportunity to see a whole new array of cars with some impressive design and manufacturing. Unfortunately our hopes for a top finish were shattered due to brake problems during the endurance event, leading us to finish in 20th place. The experience in Germany was still unforgettable, giving us new ideas and motivation for the upcoming season. For full results and pictures from the event, please visit the Formula Student Germany website.
2007 Formula SAE Champions
Facing over 100 teams from around the world, we found some good competition in Romeo, MI as the team competed for the Formula SAE World Champion title from May 16th-20th. Everything came together as we had better luck than last year, making it through endurance and qualifying for design finals for the first time in recent UW history. Thanks to everyone who participated in the competition, it was awesome to see so many cars and dedicated teams. Also congratulations to the University of Western Australia and TU Graz for their second and third place finishes!
